The lovebirds who got engaged right on National TV, after their whirlwind Big Brother Africa romance in May are exchanging words on social media, twitter at the moment.

At the centre of the big fight is a woman called Gloria Lamptey, the wife of former Ghanaian professional footballer and current assistant manager of Sekondi Wise Fighters, Odartey Lamptey who is reportedly Elikem’s  mistress.

Rescheduled PDP Imo State Assembly primaries, Ohakim’s men dominate poll

                  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly primary elections which could not hold in some council areas in Imo State on Saturday, was determined Sunday, at the state party headquarters in Owerri, with former Governor Ikedi Ohakim’s men leading the race.
Ten council areas could not conclude their primaries on Sunday and they include Nwangele, Oru West, Oguta and Aboh Mbaise. Others are the six local government areas in Imo North – Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, Onuimo, Okigwe, Obowo and Ihitte Uboma.
Former Governor Ikedi Ohakim’s men emerged victorious in Oguta, Isiala Mbano, Onuimo and Okigwe.
While the candidate of Chief Tony Chukwu, a billionaire businessman, was re-elected in Ehime Mbano.
Former Governor Achike Udenwa and Prof. Viola Onwuliri, Minister of State for Education, produced candidates for Nwangele and Aboh Mbaise respectively.

Fashola Kidnapped, chained in toilet for 4 days

A gang of kidnappers including two brothers, Kelvin and Victor Igah, have been arrested for kidnapping a top Lagos businessman, Alhaji Hammed Fashola, and they confessed how they chained their victim in the toilet for 4 days before he was rescued.

Kelvin's wife, Ogechi, was also involved in the kidnap and she is also in police net while another suspect, simply named Kingsley, was also arrested.

 In recent time, final year students of tertiary Institutions have adopted a special way to mark the final day of examination. In what is branded “dropping pen” showpiece, final year students who dropped pen are poured water by fellow students on arrival at their hostels.

Though, it was done with a measurable degree of fanfare, it remained a significant practice that has spread across major higher Institutions in Nigeria. However, last Wednesday appeared different for students of Imo State University, Owerri who were observing their second semester exams and the last for final year students.

Heart touching story of a widow who was severely beaten, stabbed and thrown off her matrimonial home

Alhaja Adejoke Orenaike, a widow at 36, was at the center of the whole issue in a polygamous home. Eight days after her husband died, her co-wife and step son sent her out of her matrimonial home. As if that was not enough, her sister in-law attacked her with a knife. She managed to shove her off and she ran out of the house with her 8-year-old daughter who was screaming for help. According to her, all her husband estates, properties, chains of businesses have been seized by her step son who has also threatened to kill her if she lay claim to any property.

Adejoke narrated her story to Saturday Vanguard: “My husband died on the 5th of May, 2013 after a protracted illness. Before his death, there were insinuations and revelations, according to my husband that my co-wife was plotting to kill him. My husband asked her but she denied. But after his death, events began to unfold which gave credence to the earlier suspicion. On the 8th day prayer rite, two members of the family came to the house with some hoodlums and sent me and my daughter out of the house. I was severely beaten and stabbed with a kitchen knife when I visited my husband’s house to celebrate the Muslim festival, Ileya.”“I had sent my daughter on an errand and on her way back,when one of them began to rain curses on her I stepped out to know what was happening.

Imo Guber Primaries: Ihedioha’s support swells

         

Ahead of the December 8 governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), statutory and adhoc  delegates of the party from the Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala Federal Constituency, Imo State have adopted the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2015 polls.
This was quickly followed by further acceptance and endorsement of the Deputy Speaker as their choice governorship candidate, by delegates of Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma and Obowo council areas after an interactive session at the Amakohia country home of Nze Fidelis Ozichukwu Chukwu in Ihitte Uboma.

At Aboh Mbaise, a chieftain of the party, Professor PGC Nworgu moved the motion for the adoption of Ihedioha as consensus candidate and was seconded by a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Anamelechi Nicholas Agunwa at a solidarity visit to the Deputy Speaker in his country home Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise council area, he explained that the adoption was in clear recognition and appreciation of the sterling leadership qualities of the Deputy Speaker.

Insult on Tambuwal: Senior advocates of Nigeria seek IGP sack

Some top Senior Advocates of Nigeria, including Olisa Agbakoba, Yusuf Ali, Niyi Akintola and the All Progressives Congress (APC), have called for the sack of the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, over his refusal to acknowledge Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal as the Speaker of the House of Reps.

The APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said by refusing to give due recognition to Tambuwal who was duly elected by the 360 members of the House of Reps, the police boss had “thumbed his nose at the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

In his own reaction, Akintola (SAN), said the IG erred by saying that it was wrong to recognise Tambuwal as the Speaker, on the excuse that the matter was in court.

He said, “The IG cannot turn himself into a court of justice to be interpreting the law. It is left for the court to interpret it one way or the other; it is not open to anybody. I think the attitude of the IG calls for concerted effort of all Nigerians to put him in check. The impunity and the derogatory remarks of the IG, if allowed to go unchecked, he will extend it to the President of the Senate, he will extend it to the CJN and he will even extend it to the Vice President...

Father From Hell: 3-year-old girl raped, beaten to death by new step-dad

           

Pascal Kaufmann, a German national, has been arrested forraping and beating his 3-year-old step-daughter, Charlie Brame, to death, in what has been described as the most brutal crime against a child.

Charlie whose mother had separated from her real father, was left in the care of Kaufmann who only moved in with the mother barely a week earlier, was brutally raped, beaten and neglected by her step-father before she died in a hospital, the Florida police said.

Her father had reportedly begged her mother not to leave the girl alone with Kaufmann, who legally joined the family through marriage about a week ago.

The New York News Daily reports that the girl had signs of recent sexual and 'aggravated child abuse with severe brain trauma.'

"Kaufmann, 19, was behind Brame's injuries and was charged with child neglect and rape.

Dora Akunyili: Former NAFDAC DG’s Daughter Wins International Award

Njideka Akunyili Crosby, the daughter of the late former Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dora Akunyili, has won the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2014James Dicke Prize.

Njideka will receive a cash prize of $25,000 (N4,442,493.70) along with the award which “recognizes an artist younger than 50 who has produced a significant body of work and consistently demonstrates exceptional creativity.”

Akunyili Crosby will now also be represented by the prestigious Victoria Miro gallery while her works will be featured in the New Museum Triennial, Art News reports.

Kebbi State House of Assembly Impeaches Speaker at Night

Democracy is turning upside down in Nigeria, and almost everyone has adopted "sidon look" posture.

As you read this, the Speaker of Kebbi House of Assembly, Hon. Habib Musa Jega has been impeached. And a man, Hon. Mohammed Shalla Gwandu has been sworn-in by the clerk of the House, Shehu Usman Randali, as the new Speaker.

The impeachment, which took place around 10:25pm at the House of Assembly in Birnin Kebbi was signed by 16 members out of 24 members of the House.

The impeachment is coming barely two days after news came out that 17 members of House are planning to dump the PDP and join the APC.

WOMEN CAN BE WICKED: “I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine" - Femi Kuti Reveals

According to a DNA test recently carried out by the father of 5 on his children, shows two of them, Dupe and Tosin are not his. He revealed this to Encomium few days ago in an interview, regretting why a woman should give him what is not is. Here’s how Encomium puts it; 

Out of his alleged five children: Made, Afolabi, Dupe, Tosin and Ayomide, two of them, Dupe and Tosin (a boy and a girl) have been discovered not to be his biological children, according to a recent DNA test. He confessed being disappointed and pained that a woman can actually givesomeone what does not belong to him. 

“I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine. The first two (after Made), a boy and a girl. It is very serious. I never knew somebody could give you what is not yours. I’ve three boys now. I can’t father children I was tricked to believe I am their father,” he lamented. 

Because of the betrayal, he returned the two children, Dupe and Tosin, to their mothers. 

Funke, his ex-wife, gave birth to his first child and son, Made, who Femi treasures so much. And Bisi Ajala gave birth to Ayomide and one other child that the DNA test recently proved not to be Femi’s. The third woman’s name was not revealed.

Oil prices plunge further after OPEC meeting

            

The price of oil slumped after the OPEC oil producers’ cartel decided not to cut output at its meeting in Vienna.

OPEC’s Secretary General Abdallah Salem el-Badri said they would not try to shore up prices by reducing production.

“There’s a price decline. That does not mean that we should really rush and do something,” he said.

Following the announcement Brent crude hit its lowest since August 2010, falling below $72 a barrel, before settling at $72.82, 5% drop on the day.

The US benchmark dropped $4.64 to $69.05 a barrel, although market business slowed by midday in thinning Thanksgiving holiday business.

The 12 OPEC members decided to maintain production at 30 million barrels per day as first agreed in December 2011.

“We don’t want to panic. I mean it,” said el-Badri. “We want to see the market, how the market behaves, because the decline of the price does not reflect a fundamental change.”

Baba Obasanjo, You Are Lying Against Us ––Senate Reacts

The Senate has reacted to the the allegation by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo that the National Assembly was using constituency projects to siphon public funds, claiming that it was false.

Describing the allegation as spurious, Senator Abaribe, in a statement, said the former President’s comment was distant from the truth and nowhere near reality, adding that if it were so, the former President would not have tolerated such for the period he was the president of the country.

“President Obasanjo, for the avoidance of doubt, was the initiator of the constituency project in the year 2000," the statement added.

Angry Boko Haram Kills 10 Soldiers, 35 Hunters In Ambush

The madness is far from being over. Boko Haram militants today detonated a roadside bomb after ambushing a combination of soldiers and hunters in Mararaba near Mubi in Adamawa state.

At least 10 soldiers and 35 hunters were killed in the ambush that happened around 6:00pm Nigerian time according to eyewitnesses and military sources.

A Nigerian army source said they could not immediately comment on the level of casualty but stated they were aware of the attack and still investigating.

Mararaba is 18 kilometers from Mubi, a township recently overrun by Boko Haram sect militants.

However, a push by hunters backed by Nigerian troops forced Boko Haram to beat a retreat in the area.

SR army source said some 100 Boko Haram militants have been killed in the area between Sunday andWednesday night in renewed operations to recover the territory from the heartless terrorists.

Shekau and his boys are angry and are trying to get back at Nigerian troops and the hunters at all cost.
