Nasarawa State: How Governor’s Driver Was Killed In Front Of Wife

Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State (pictured). The governor's head driver, Mr. Abdullahi Mairuwa was on Saturday, November 8, killed in cold blood by unidentified attackers while his wife watched.

Mr. Abdullahi Mairuwa was travelling with his wife, Salamatu when they were attacked and he was shot twice in the chest at close range while she watched.

Mr. Abdullahi Mairuwa was travelling with his wife, Salamatuwhen they were attacked and he was shot twice in the chest at close range while she watched.
The victim and his spouse were heading to Keana Local Government Area from Lafia but they were stopped by the assassins at Tudun Adabu village in the Obi Local Government Area of the state.
The killing has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Ismaila Numan who said:
“The report we got from the scene indicated that Mairuwa’s killers shot him at close range in the presence of his wife before escaping through a bush path.’’
The killers were said to have told Mairuwa’s wife not to panic as they were not out to hurt her but had only been sent to kill her husband.
The deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites and the police have commenced investigations into the incident.
