President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to wait patiently for the official results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections which held on the country on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, 29.
President Jonathan made the call due to the current tension in the country following the early release of results from some states.
“We waited patiently to vote in these elections, now I want to urge all Nigerians to also wait patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission to collate and announce results,”Jonathan said via Facebook. Continue...
“We must ensure that we do not get involved in acts that breach our peaceful co-existence that we patriotically demonstrated during the elections,” he added.
“May God bless Nigeria,” the President concluded.
This year’s highly competitive race will see either Jonathan or his opponent, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerge as President-elect.
