Social networking service, Twitter has created an official account for Nigeria and two other African countries, Kenya andSouth Africa.
Twitter announced the accounts – @TwitterNigeria,@TwitterSA and @TwitterKenya – which debuted on Monday, February 2.
As at the time of this report, @TwitterNigeria has over 3, 000 followers while @TwitterKenya and @TwitterSA has over 5,000 and 400 followers respectively.
As expected, the accounts are all verified.
In a related development, we reported yesterday, Thursday, February 5 that Twitter has signed a deal with Google which will allow comments by Twitter users to appear highly on searches on the search giant.
