A younger brother to Rivers state governor,Rotimi Amaechi, has been left hospitalized after a brutal machete attack.
Chidi Adi Amaechi, a student at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, was attacked by unidentified assailants in the early hours of Wednesday.

"The younger Amaechi who is a student of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State was viciously attacked by assailants in his accommodation in the school with machetes," Iyofor said.
"At present, doctors say his condition is critical."
It is not certain if the attack is connected to the political situation in the country or cultism.
However, there have been several violent attacks in Rivers state in the past couple of months.
On Saturday, four people were killed in an attack by suspected cultists at a restaurant around the Eastern-Bypass area of Marine Base, Port Harcourt.
In January, a barber and a youth were also shot dead by suspected cultists who attacked the Omoku community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Just yesterday, Rotimi Amaechi wife, Dame Judith Amaechi, urged women in the state to rise up to the challenges ofredirecting their wards from the lure of cultism and other negative activities.
