Mali recorded its first case of Ebola last week when a 2-year-old child returned from Guinea with the disease and eventually died.
The 82 people being monitored are possible contacts of the child who was said to have travelled in public transportation after being infected.
However, according to WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic, no new cases of the disease have been recorded in the country.
Mali has become the sixth West African country to be affected by Ebola after cases were reported in Sierra LeoneLiberia,GuineaSenegal and Nigeria, the latter two of whom have successfully contained the disease and been declared Ebola-free.
The current Ebola outbreak has claimed 5000 lives and has been described as the worst ever by the WHO.
