Tambuwal, who bought the forms on Monday, November 10, recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was initially reported to be vying for the governorship of Sokoto State.

Tambuwal, who bought the forms on Monday, November 10, recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was initially reported to be vying for the governorship of Sokoto State.
However, the speaker has made his true aspirations known and will be seeking to contest for the country’s number one position on the APC's platform along with former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the Publisher of Leadership Newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
Reports have it that Tambuwal might be a strong contender as he supposedly enjoys the support of the party’s National Leader, Bola Tinubu.
The speaker’s defection attracted controversy and members of the ruling PDP have called for his resignation saying that it would be the honourable thing to do.
