@Atiku and @SpeakerTambuwal hold APC consensus meeting

      APC
As the opposition party, All Progressives Congress held a meeting to agree on a consensus candidate for the party’s presidential ticket, some of the presidential candidates failed to show up for the sit-down on Tuesday, 11 November, in Abuja.
The meeting which was held behind closed doors, with the sole purpose of deliberating and agreeing on a consensus candidate to represent the party at the 2015 Presidential elections. Continue after the cut...
Present at the meeting was former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal and the Zamfara State governor, Abdulazeez Yari.
However, former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Sam Nda-Isaiah were reportedly absent from the meeting.
A source told Punch, “There is nothing unusual about these kinds of meetings at this time. It is understandable that Kwankwaso could not attend because he just opened his campaign office earlier today, others could not attend for one reason or another but we will keep trying. You don’t expect to get instant results.”The meeting is believed to have been organised to resolve differences between the candidates and to create an accord between them so as to bolster the party’s chances in the 2015 elections.
Arother meeting of party leaders and presidential aspirants has reportedly been scheduled to hold in Abuja, on Thursday, 13 November.
