Post UTME Cancelled!!! UNIABUJA to admit 4,000 out of 16,000 candidates without test

University of Jos
Four thousand of the prospective students who applied to the University of Jos (UNIJOS) will be offered admission without writing the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME).
According to the spokesperson of the varsity, Waziri Garba, who spoke to Daily Trust, the institution had cancelled the post-UTME tests because of the cost implication.
"Initially we had about 16,000 candidates applying then after JAMB did their redistribution exercise we came down to about 6,000 and we need about 4,000 students only," Garba said. Continue...

"So why do we conduct post-UTME, it will cost us more to conduct it for 6,000 candidates than 16,000."
The spokesperson explained that admission will be offered to applicants based on merit at the department level.
Many of the applicants will be happy with the development because they will not have to pay for Post-UTME charges and sit for another examination.
