In a statement signed by a Senior Special Assistant to the governor, Sunny Areh, he said the governor did not submit any name through the Anioma Congress to the President. The statement said, “The attention of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Governor of Delta State, has been drawn to a publication on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. “Let it be stated that the governor did not submit any name through the Anioma Congress as governors do not submit names to the President to be ‘appointed’ as governors. “His Excellency has direct access to Mr. President and does not need any intermediary. In the course of ensuring a smooth transition in 2015, His Excellency met with the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Obi Chike Edozien. “In the course of discussion, the names of many aspirants of Delta-North extraction came up, including those of Mr. Charles Emetulu and Mr. Tony Obuh, who were members of his cabinet”.
