A couple had to tie the knot on live radio since the bride couldn't make it to the venue of the wedding due to heavy gridlock in Beijing.
Who ever said love was easy?
A bride's big day turned into a nightmare when she got stuck in heavy traffic on the way to her wedding during China's National Day holiday.
Yan Mengxia, from Cixi in Zhejiang province, hit the road at 1pm on Oct. 1 on a 300-kilometer trip to Yongkang, where her fiance and their wedding guests were waiting for her to arrive for the evening ceremony. More after the cut...

According to Ecns.cn, the anxious fiance kept calling FM93 Traffic Radio's hotline for updates on road conditions. However, at 4pm, he was told there was no chance of his bride arriving in time.
At the end of the day, the radio station had to conduct the ceremony over the airwaves.
It was also reported that "traffic" and "jam" were among the most commonly used words on social media in conversations between friends over the holiday.
Beijing welcomed a large number of returning travelers on Tuesday (the last day of the week-long break), with vehicles on the G6 Beijing-Tibet Expressway at a virtual standstill at 1 pm.
