Yoruba Youth Congress endorses Buhari for APC Ticket

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Many Nigerians believe that a man with Muhammadu Buhari's character is the right candidate for Aso Rock in 2015, that is no more time for trial and errors. And he is set to declare for the Presidency.

Ahead of his official declaration in Abuja, the Yoruba Youths Congress (YYC), a socio-cultural group, on Tuesday announced its endorsement of the ex-Head of State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the battle royale 2015 election.

The group considers and appreciates that Buhari did not increase petroleum price during his tenure.
“Retired General Buhari is an attested disciplinarian who was able to curtail corruption during his regime as the Head of State of the nation between 1983 and 1985.
“His landmarks as the Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) are also still very evident in tertiary institutions of learning in the country.”

Olalekan Hammed, the National Leader of the group, announced this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan. He said the group believed Buhari was good enough to fly the APC presidential flag, having considered his past records in and out of office.

The group, however, urged Buhari to reserve 40 per cent of his appointments for youths if he is elected as the president in 2015.

“The youth have come a long way and we have seen the need to be given the chance to offer our ideas for the growth and development of this nation,” he said.
