Home Remedy: 4 reasons why you should incorporate milk to your beauty regimen

Several tales abound of how Cleopatra would bathe in milk and honey which gave her flawless skin. Indeed, milk has been a known beauty component since time immemorial.
Milk is rich in several nutrients such as vitamin A, D, calcium and protein amongst others making it great for consumption and also a great beauty product. As a first aid remedy, milk is also a known remedy in cases of poisoning. But we digress, here are 4 great reasons why you should consider milk as a beauty product. Continue...

  1. Great cleanser: Milk can serve as a cleanser, unclogging the pores and softening white heads which  makes them easily removeable. Simply mix two spoon fulls of milk and use a cotton wool to swipe it over your face for smooth, fresher skin.
  2. Moisturises: Milk is rich in cream and vitamin D which makes it great for moisturising the skin. To combat dry skin, simply mix it with a banana mash and apply the mix on your face. Leave for about 30 minutes and wash off for softer, moresupple skin.
  3. Exfoliating: Notice how we're covering the major steps of the ideal beauty regimen with milk - cleansing, moisturising and now exfoliating? Milk is rich in alpha hydroxy acid which makes it a great anti-aging formula. It's also a great natural exfoliant when mixed with honey and oatmeal. Try it today for great looking skin.
  4. Toner: Ofcourse it had to cover toning seeing as we've covered the basics. Milk serves as a natural toner and for best results, mix with green tea and apply on the face for about 15 minutes for visibly brighter, clearer skin.
