Good Friday: 6 things Jesus taught us while being nailed to the cross

Good Friday
The bible explains that Jesus knew what he had to do when he got to earth, he knew his mission was to save mankind before leaving.
The bible says he was sorrowful unto death, but through the spitting , hitting, beating, mockery, he remained humble, died and was raised above all men on the third day.
Looking at the crucifixion of Jesus, compiled by Beliefnet, here are 6 things Jesus taught us:
  1. Stay Focused: Jesus taught us to remain focused on God’s call and will for your life, despite the many pains suffered. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Continue...
  2. Trust: Trusting God is no easy task. While in agony on the cross, Jesus refused a mix of vinegar and myrrh to fulfill the prophecy.
  3. Be Honest: Jesus was human and in the last moment he felt all the pain of being separated from God. “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” Crying out to God and being real is important and cathartic. God is the only one who can deliver us.
  4. Forgive: On the cross Jesus forgave his enemies. If he can do this under such stress, and physical pain, then we should be able to the same. There is such freedom when you release someone to the Lord and allow him to deal with it.
  5. Encourage: Always encourage others, and be a blessing to strangers. Jesus ministered to the thief next to him. The thief repented and joined Christ in heaven. You never know who will cross your path, be a light for Christ.
  6. Sin: The cross shows what man can do to man. This sin was all put on the Lord that day and he humbled himself to receive it. You might not have to die physically, but we must die to sin.
