Okorocha Heaps Praise On Jonathan


Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has hailed President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat and congratulating General Muhammadu Buhari over his victory at the presidential election.
In a statement issued in Owerri, yesterday, by his SSA media, Sam Onwuemedo, Okorocha said that the president’s singular act of calling Buhari to congratulate him, showed that the future of democracy in Nigeria is bright.He said:
“President Jonathan has also made history by being the first Nigerian president to have conceded victory to his opponent after an election and congratulate him”. Continue...

Okorocha who described Buhari’s victory as divine said; “By virtue of Buhari’s victory, Ndigbo and Imo people in particular, can now appreciate the wisdom behind his decision to be part of the merger”.

The governor had earlier likened the president-elect to the late Nelson Mandela of South Africa.

Rochas Okorocha was among the many political leaders who expressed displeasure with the Goodluck Jonathan administration which according to him has seen the south-east completely marginalized.
