Three Boko Haram members sentenced to 25 years each

The Federal High Court in Lagos today Tuesday September 30th sentenced 3 Boko Haram members to 25 years imprisonment each, The Nation reports.

However, journalists were not allowed to cover the judgment. Only lawyers in the prosecution and defence teams were allowed in court.
A source, who witnessed the verdict, but craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told reporters that the fourth defendant was acquitted.
The court, on December 3 last year, barred journalists from covering the trial of 17 suspected members of the sect.
Justice Ibrahim Buba made the order following an application by the Lagos State Attorney-General and prosecuting counsel, Mr. Ade Ipaye. Continue after the cut...

The marriage between Ini Edo and Phillip Ehiagwina may have broken down irretrievably.

This is not a palatable news at all, as it is alleged that the marriage of star Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, and her American based husband, Phillip Ehiagwina, has joined the league of celebrity marriages that has crashed.

According to privileged information gathered by Pulse.ng, the marriage was actually in name only as it had broken up years back and the couple were only living a lie, attending functions together, so as to show the world they were still together.

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly attacked two communities in Adamawa state leaving at least 500 houses destroyed

The reign of terror unleashed by Boko Haram in Adamawa has continued as two communities in the state have been attacked by insurgents.

At least 500 houses were destroyed in Kubi and Watu in the Michika Local Government Area of the state, Vanguard reports.

Death Calling- 60 More Soldiers Face Death For Mutiny

Another set of 60 soldiers are being arraigned before a General Court Martial, GCM, by military authorities in Abuja on Tuesday for mutiny. The soldiers allegedly committed mutiny on August 4, 2014 by refusing to join other troops in the Maiduguri battlefield for “an operation.”

Their arraignment which is to take place at the Sani Abacha Barracks in Abuja is headed by Brig. Gen. C. Okonkwo, who had sentenced 12 soldiers to death over acts of mutiny.

A copy of the charge sheet filed against the 60 soldiers revealed that the soldiers, comprising two corporals, nine lance corporals and 49 privates, are to be arraigned on two counts of conspiracy to commit mutiny and mutiny. continue after the cut...

About two weeks after the collapse of a guest house at Synagogue church in Lagos, a fresh indication emerged on Monday that the church got an approval for a 12-storey building from Lagos State government.
