Former National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Ahmadu Ali, has been appointed as the Director-General of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaign committee team for the 2015 general election.
President Jonathan said on Wednesday at the party’s convention that the council would pilot the affairs of all PDP campaigns.
He had, however, urged members to ensure that their engagements with Nigerians are issues based. Continue after the cut...
Speaking Thursday at the inauguration of the party’s National Campaign Council headed by its National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, which was held at the Presidential villa, Senate President, David Mark, admitted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formidable opponents to contend with in the 2015 elections.
According to him, the opponents will give the ruling party a run for its money in all the elections come 2015.
Mark’s comment came on the heels of the election of former military Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mark charged members of the council to double their efforts in canvassing votes from Nigerians, in view of the quality of the opponents that will contest the presidential polls against PDP.
“Members of this council have serious work to do as the party’s opponents are serious opponents to contend with” Mark stressed.
The Ahmadu Ali led committee will be inaugurated at the Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja on Monday.
