Over a thousand members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) and their People’s Democratic Party(PDP) counterparts in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, Thursday dumped their parties for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Welcoming the defected members, the Chairman of the party in the local government, Chief Lawrence Osuagwu, commended them for their foresight in identifying and aligning with genuine progressives, adding that the APC remained the only viable option through which democracy dividends could get to the people at the grass root. The Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, in his remarks, described the event as a great watershed in the political history of Obowo, adding that the people of the area have made a better choice which he said would in no small measure secure the future and destinies of their children.
