Money Palava: Wife kills husband over N70

A woman who stabbed her husband to death says her action was because he gave her only N70 as house feeding money.
For giving his wife the sum of N70 for the house keeping and refusing to add to it, a man, Maduabuchi Okoh, has been stabbed to death by his wife in the fight that followed her request for more money.
The wife, Tina Okoh, has now been remanded in prison after she was dragged to the Atani Magistrates’ Court 2, Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State, for killing her husband.
Tina explained before Chief Magistrate G. C. Nwabachili, that she resorted to stabbing her husband with a knife while fighting because he gave her only N70 to feed herself and her two children for two days. Continue after the cut...

Tina, who hails from Awgwu in Nkanu West local government area of Enugu State, further explained that the fight that ensued between her and her late husband took place when she went to him to ask for more money but he staunchly refused to add to the little money he gave her.
In her words, while they were fighting, Okoh held her under his armpit and was almost choking her to death. In a bid to free herself, she picked up a knife and used it to stab him.  Adjourning the matter to 3rd March, 2015, the Magistrate blamed Mrs Okoh on one part and on the other, her Catholic Church and the residents of their No. 1, Madueke Street, Iyiowa Odekpe, where the incident occurred, for allowing the fight to degenerate to the level that it claimed somebody’s life.
He, therefore, reminded her in the prison custody while transferring the matter to the office of the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
