Wicked Helper Housemaid connives with robbers to attack boss’ house

Daniel Ikong and Pius Dennis were invited by a housemaid to rob her mistress.
In the past few days, house helps have given some families cause to have a rethink about bringing someone to stay with them, going by what has been going round.
It started with the viral video of a housemaid in Uganda almost snuffing life out of a toddler and while the world was trying to get behind that, another housemaid in Magodo GRA of Lagos, Nigeria, made away with two kids from her mistress' house and while the search for the kids is on, another maid in the same Magodo GRA, identified as Mary, connived with armed robbers to raid her boss's house where large amount of money and other valuables were carted away. Continue after the cut...

While parading the suspected robbers, 22-year-old Daniel Ikong and 20-year-old Pius Dennis, who were arrested on 27 November, 2014,  the Lagos State Police Command, the police said though the men were arrested, the maid evaded arrest and fled with the loot.
Ikong and Dennis, it was further learnt, were initially apprehended by policemen attached to the Isheri division before they were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further interrogation.
Ikong, who hails from Ogoja local government council, Cross River State, confessed that the housemaid was his girlfriend and actually invited him to arrange some friends for the operation.
According to him, Mary informed them that her boss just brought home some gold jewellery and money.
"I was staying at Sagamu, Ogun State. I am a commercial okada rider. I was dating Mary before she came to Lagos to work as a housemaid in the house. Later, I came to Lagos and stayed with a friend, Francis.
Two days before the incident, Mary told me and my friends that her boss brought gold and money into the house, adding that we should come and rob her.
We got to the house around 7pm. It was Mary who opened the door for us. She showed us round the house. We collected the money and the gold. We had earlier tied up the boss in the sitting room.
As we were making our way out, members of a vigilance group, who had also alerted the police, came after us. Eventually, we were rounded up, but Mary escaped."
Dennis who is also from the same Ogoja, on his part, confessed that the housemaid gave them two kitchen knives to threaten her boss, though they did not inflict any injury on her.
"That was my first time of robbing anyone. The girl was Ikong’s lover. She planned everything and asked us to come. We used two kitchen knives which she gave us to threaten the woman; we did not injure her."
The police revealed that the knives used by the suspects had been recovered while they are on the trail of the escaped housemaid, assuring that she would soon be apprehended.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
"Efforts are on to also arrest the fleeing housemaid who allegedly brought the robbers."

First, see how the robbers look in detention. That they are robber does not mean they should be held in so inhuman situation.

Secondly, must be flaunt our "wealth" even before our maid? Prudence is the word.

I see poverty creating more robbers for our dear country
