There are strong indications that the much-hyped upcoming election in Nigeria may not hold. RityOnyi.blofspot.com can confirm this piece of shocking news and as usual, if you doubt it, after 14th of Feb. 2014, remember we told you so!
The man calling for the postponement of Nigeria’s election is no other figure but Sambo Dasuki, the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan. Does that name ring a bell? Yes!
Dasuki has advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to delay the elections, as 30 million Nigerians are yet to get their Permanent Voters Cards . Recall the Sultan of Sokoto said some days ago, he would not be able to vote for the same reason. Continue...
In a statement made in London he said “it will be advantageous if the election was to be postponed”, also saying “That is what we are encouraging at the moment.”
30 million cards have been distributed, but Dasuki said another 30 million people are yet to receive their voter’s cards. This is the first time in Nigeria where voters will be required to use a biometric card to reduce the risks of a rigged election.
This is indeed a very dangerous signal as any attempt to postpone the oncoming election may plunge Nigeria into serious unrest of a huge catastrophic consequences. The question is, why should INEC wait till the last minute to give all Nigerians who are legible to vote a PVC? God help Nigeria.
