Information reaching my desk from Lagos this hour has it that Nollywood movie star, Desmond Olusola Elliot has just won the All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos, Nigeria. He defeated a two-term incumbent, Kabiru Lawal to bag a ticket to represent Surulere constituency in the Lagos House of Assembly.
It is almost certain that come February, 2015, Des, as he’s popularly called, will become an ‘Honorable’. Naysayers and political pundits who scoffed at him when he made up his mind to run got it all wrong!
