Man arrested for raping grandmother in front of grandfather

A 77-year-old woman has been raped by her 20-year-old grandson in front of his sick grandfather on New Year’s Eve.

The sick madala watched helplessly as his wife was raped by the child they had raised in their house in JB Mafora in Mangaung, Bloemfontein in South Africa.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday after a police manhunt.

Police spokesman Constable Peter Kareli said: “The 20-year-old grandson arrived at about 6pm while the grandmother was busy cleaning in the kitchen. Continue...

“He jumped on her and hit her with his fists. She tried to scream for help but her helpless husband could only listen as his wife endured the pain and suffering.”

After the rape, the suspect allegedly fled the house.

“The victim managed to run to her neighbours looking for help and Kagisanong Police were called to the scene.

“A manhunt was launched and the grandson was arrested three days later after he was found hiding at a dumping site. He was charged with rape and will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.”
