The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha Tuesday in Abuja alluded to the fact that it was the exit of five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors from the party that gave APC its victory in the last general elections.

The Imo State governor made the revelation at a pre-valedictory dinner organised in honour of the four out going APC governors.
The out going governors include, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aliyu Wamako, Rotimi Amechi and Babatunde Fashola (Lagos).
Okorocha remarked that the valedictory session was organised to “honour our out going governors and to rub minds on how to bring the change that the party promised Nigerians”, adding that his party will not fail Nigerians on the promises made during campaign.
He said: “An interactive valedictory session will take place tomorrow (Wednesday), during the retreat we will rub minds together, Nigerians are expecting much from APC and this incoming government cannot fail, we are the last hope of Nigerians. We must take responsibility as government in power. We shall work together wit the National Working Committee. And we shall learn to carry every one along.”
Also speaking, former vice President and APC national leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar eulogized the exemplary leadership qualities shown by the out going APC governors, especially the G5 whom he said made the APC merger and victory at the poll a reality.
Atiku, who warned the party to avoid the mistakes of PDP, said the APC must learn to be humble in dealing with Nigerians.
He remarked: “The exit of the five governors from the PDP contributed to the victory of the party at the last election. They chose the difficult path instead of the easy way, we must avoid those things that brought PDP to its knees.”
APC’s National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun while charging the incoming governors to be good ambassadors of the party, said he is confident that APC will not fail Nigerians.
