Miss Vivian Adaeze Nnamani, who represented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has emerged as Miss United Nations (Nigeria) while Miss Kessy Isong, representing Akwa Ibom state, emerged as her first runner up. The event was held last Saturday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
There were five categories. Madueke Jaclyn emerged Miss Teen, Nigeria, United Nations; Kessy Isong was Miss Tourism Nigeria, United Nations; Tubosoye C. Dokubo, emerged Miss MS (Single Mum) United Nations; and the Mrs Nigeria, United Nations is Emem Chukwu Ebelechukwu.
Each winner got a brand new car and $10,000 cash. They will represent Nigeria in July in Kingston, Jamaica. See more photos after the cut...
Organizer of the pageant, Miss United Nations Nigeria, 2014, Precious Chikwendu, said using her Snow White Foundation NGO, she adopted a lifecycle approach of development, focusing its interventions on children, their families and the larger community with emphasis on the less privileged.
According to her, beauty transcends the physical, is not just an outward thing, but the inner qualities of an individual.
She maintained that beauty pageant had moved beyond wearing crown and cat-walking to impact positively on the society.

The outgoing Queen, explained that the main focus of the pageant was to have volunteers who were ready to use beauty to add value to humanity.
She held that it focuses on volunteer work, adding that each contestant must have a background in volunteer work for her community.
“This sisterhood strengthens them to see beyond their immediate surroundings and situations and extends their services across the globe.

Present at the well attended event were wife of IGP, Mrs Arase, John Fashanu, who was a judge, Representative of Foreign Affairs minister of state, Musiliu Obanikoro, Mrs Funmi Ogbu, Miss Nigeria, Canada, Oby Benson, also a judge; Hollywood based Nigerian actress, Jennifer Oguzie, PMAN president, and a host of other dignitaries.
